Shay Mitchell is Canadian actress,model and entrepreneur. She is most well-known for her role as Emily Fields, she is the star of the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. After her accomplishments in dance, modeling and acting she took acting classes. Mitchell landed some commercials as well as acting roles as a guest in TV shows. She got her break but it was when she played Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. The critics as well as her fans were impressed with her acting. She then went on to be a star on the big screen by starring in films such as the DreamlandMother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. Her part in the psychological thriller series "You" brought her more fame. Apart from acting, Shay Mitchell also was a writer. With Michaela Blaney, she co-wrote the adult-oriented book Bliss. Shay Mitchell was raised in Ontario with her parents Mark Mitchell & Precious Gonzalez. She was born 10th April, 1987. She is of Filipina origin, while her father comes from Irish/Scottish heritage. Mitchell's cousin is Lea Salonga who is a well-known musical theater singer and actress. As a child, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary before transferring to the West Vancouver Secondary School. As a teenager, she had already worked as an actress for corporations in several countries. She traveled to Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before finally returning home and studying the art of acting at Toronto.
