Her big break came when she was cast in the role of Emily Fields. Fans and critics lauded her skills as an actor. Mitchell is also the cousin of Lea Salonga - a famous actor and musical theatre performer. Mitchell was a student at Rockridge Secondary school before she was transferred into West Vancouver Secondary. Mitchell was already modeling around the globe by her late teens.
