Anita Barone

A stage actress that is versatile and has been relegated mostly to show-biz sitcoms TV, Anita Barone received her best shot in the medium as wife to Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which had a single season on ABC in 1995-96. Barone had her first stage appearance at age five in Detroit and was born after moving with her family to the city from St Louis. By age 23 Barone had performed in over 50 plays mostly at university productions and regional theaters. She portrayed Juliet as the twisted young nun in "Agnes of God," Helen Keller, the main character in "Monday After the Miracle,"" as well as Juliet reprised as Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet." Her screen debut was in the minor part of "The Roseary Murders" with a cameo appearance in "Ricochet" as well as the lead in indie romantic comedy "Just Friends" which premiered in 1996. However, her first Hollywood employment of note was as a member of the stock company for "Carol & Company" (NBC in 1990 and 1991), the ill-fated the effort of Carol Burnett to revive the variety/sketch comedy program. Barone was also in"Wounded Heart," the USA Network movie "Wounded Heart" in 1995. Barone returned to sitcoms with a weekly schedule, co-starring in "Daddio", NBC 2000 together with Michael Chiklis.
